APPOINTING A DPO
The DPO must always act strictly independently and must be able to guarantee the total absence of conflicts of interest.
The specialised knowledge of the DPO goes beyond the mere implementation of appropriate security and security-related obligations. This knowledge is determined according to the processing activities of an organisation, with the volume of personal data processed and any processing with entities outside the Union helping to determine the work requirement.
As a freelance DPO, we always charge a price per day. The DPO can be hired as an external notified DPO to the data protection authority in the country where your head office is located and can carry out audits and assignments as a consultant.
By appointing an external DPO, you avoid conflicts of interest between your company’s internal departments. The external DPO will take an independent position within your company and will be available as a neutral point of contact and advice.
